Ene seiklused Roomas ja mujal, esimene osa

Alustame järjejutuga minu täditütre Ene seiklustest maikuises Roomas. Ene kirjutab inglise keeles. Ta oskas ka eesti keelt, aga rääkis seda aktsendiga ning tuntavalt halvemini kui inglise keelt.  Kui keegi vajab tõlget, siis andke teada! Pildil noor Ene enne oma leeritamise päeval New Yorgi luteri kiriku ees.

May 5th, Monday

Well, today i'm off for Roma. Leaving mother is the saddest thing. Otherwise I'm filled with optimism for the future.

The plane was delayed for an hour. The seating arrangement is a horror. Two newly wed couples on either side. But I'm still happy. The dinner was alright, so I'll go to sleep. Too bad I can't get my seat down.

May 6th, Tuesday

Morning. We will arrive in Milano soon. I hope Ray got the telegram.

Milano. Nice airport. Back on the plane. Bruno has asked me to sit with him and to go out with him tomorrow. Another young italian man made a pass but couldn't speak English.

Rome. Ray was waiting. The drive was beautiful. The apartment comfortable. Carlo took me on some errands with him. Came back, had wonderful dinner. Ray had to work. Carlo took me for a night tour of Rome in the rain.

Wednesday

Bruno never called. Slept most of the day. Ray and Carlo took me out to dinner. Dinner was delicious. Fettucini with mushrooms plus cream sauce. And went home.

It rained all day and night. Buses were on strike.

Thursday

Carlo and I had lunch and he took me to Via Veneto. So i could go sightseeing. At the Spanish steps I met Roberto. He drove me home on a motor scooter and made a date for tomorrow.

Ray, Carlo and I were invited to dinner to Umberto's and Lydia's house. Unbelievably beautiful apartment. Gracious and wonderful people. Excellent dinner. Lasagna and salad. Wonderful night.

Ray locks Carlo and me out. Some sightseeing again. Ray wakes up and lets us in and we go to sleep.

Friday

It was hard to get up. Had to meet Roberto at Piazza Barancini at three. Roberto took me to the Etruscan museum. Then we drove to many beautiful places, came home and made a date for tomorrow. Wrote to mother.

Saturday

Went sightseeing by myself and shopping. Met Roberto at Piazza Barberini. Had tea, drove around. Saw Pantheon. Went home to change. Roberto picked me up at ten. We went to the carrousel and Bobo's. Got home at three.

Sunday

Ray and I went to the beach. It was unbelievably beautiful. Met the family who owns the beach house, Serena the artist and her boyfriend. Came back to Rome. Went sightseeing. Met a boy from Australia named Albert. Made a date for Sunday. He drove me on his Vespa to Ray's car. In the evening went to dinner at Serena's house. Wonderful evening. Liked Serena very much.

Jätkub! No on ju lahe? Selline mõnus unelev, muretu eksistents. Iga hetke nautimine.

Panen iga uue osa juurde pilte, mul on neid palju.

Aastaarvu ma kahjuks ei tea, kuna sel päevikul puudub aastaarv. Aga ma arvan, et see oli seitsmekümnendatel. Kaheksakümnendatel abiellus Ene juba afgaan Ashrafiga.
